The clubs in the area run on a volunteer basis, to provide
safe trails and good riding conditions. Some people feel
they contribute enough to trail maintenance with their NYS registration
fee.
The cost of equipment and fuel to operate successfully is
HIGH!! Please join at least one of the 10+ clubs in the area
to help with the costs. You also receive a discount on
your NYS registration, when you belong to a New York State
club. It's important to join a club where you visit,
financially supporting the area you ride. I know it's
an expensive sport and with the increase in the NYS
Registration, especially if you have a family with multiple
sleds, however what is the number one factor that determines
a good ride and trip? Smooooth trails.
Although the 06-07 season was short, the grooming on Tug
Hill had never been better. The area has come a
long way in the past few years, when the grooming was not as
active. Most of the clubs in the area have
earned and deserve your support.
If you're new to the area and not sure which club to join,
look for a grooming schedule. This shows the clubs
commitment to maintaining the trails.
Please join at least one area club.
It will only benefit all that enjoy the riding. Don't forget
the trail fund jars found at local businesses. YOU CAN MAKE
A DIFFERENCE!!!
